Our Ministries

In 2011, it was observed that the young people of Eagle Butte didn't have very much to do on Friday evenings.  This contributed to their depression, or-worse-getting into trouble.  A number of members of First Baptist Church applied themselves to think of a way to improve the situation.

The result was the Off-the-Wall ministry, an outreach program designed to give the young people of the community a place to hang out and have fun in a Christian context.  Every Friday, from 5:00 to 8:00, young men and women from 5th-12th grade are welcome.  A meal is served, a movie is shown, and there are a variety of sports and games to play.  Everyone seems to have a good time!

Every Sunday morning, we send van drivers into the surrounding community, picking up children and giving them rides to church.  Then we feed them breakfast (a meal which, for some of them, might be the first time they have eaten since school lunch on Friday).  After that, we teach them our weekly Sunday School lesson, dividing them into three classes by age group.  Pictured here is one of the groups, being taught by Rachel Cowan.  Finally, we take them all home.  We hope to form a bond with these children, and work hard to get the Gospel across to them, in the hopes that the Holy Spirit will use us to lead them to the Lord.

Every Lord's Day, First Baptist Church celebrates the Sabbath with a time of worship and praise at 11:00am.  Together we pray, study the Bible, and sing the praises of our Lord.  

Sunday School is a high-priority time at First Baptist Church.  Four different age groups are taught in four separate classes, from nursery-age.                                                              through adult.

Pastor Ben's wife, Tiffany, takes great pleasure in leading a series of women's Bible studies, 3-4 times per year. Sundays at 1:30 and then the same bible study Thursday nights at 5:00

Each Wednesday Evening, at 5:30, the members of First Baptist Church enjoy a meal together, then follow with an evening of Bible Study and prayer. 

 Every Wednesday night starting at 5:00 we have an amazing kids program. Where kids of all ages are welcomed to come join in with us as we play games, sing songs, do crafts, and and enjoy a bible story. Supper is also provided
